If You Are Having Surgery at Oak Park Hospital

Surgery Time: The hospital will contact you the day before your surgery between 3-6pm if you are not available or have not received a call from the hospital please contact the hospital directly at 708-383-9300.

Once you arrive at the hospital you will enter through the main door of the hospital which is at the top of ramp on Maple St. You will check in at the front desk/security desk you then will be directed to proceed to the fourth floor to Ambulatory Surgery. There you will register for surgery, please make sure to have your insurance card and photo ID with you. After you have been registered you will be taken to an Ambulatory Surgery room to begin the preparation for surgery. Your family will be allowed to stay with you until you are called up to the surgical floor. Your family will then be directed to return back to the first floor waiting room area. When your surgery is finished your family will then be directed to the seventh floor waiting room to speak with either Dr. Romeo or one of his physician assistants who will go over what took place in surgery, your prescriptions and your discharge instructions. While you are in recovery your family will go back to the first floor to wait until you return back to Ambulatory Surgery. Once you return back to Ambulatory Surgery your family will be called to rejoin you. After being reevaluated by the nursing staff you will begin the process for being discharged.
